Tele Atlas and the Paperless MapTele Atlas (oh, only the company claiming the broadest map coverage in the world) just named Socialight one of its 5 top "Innovators". And they've invited us to share their booth and show off Socialight at CES (that's the huge Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas in a few weeks. At CES, we're one of three finalists up for the Attendee Choice Awards. Come visit us on the floor (booth #9841, Central Hall) - then vote for us to win! As if our own honors weren't enough, Newsweek recently wrote an interesting piece, "The Paperless Map Is the Killer App," where they outline creative mapping and locating services and the state of consumer GPS. Needless to say, with the number of navigation-ready cell phones set hit 162 million this year, we're incredibly excited about the potential of our platform and it appears the world is waking up to all of the possibilities as well... Stay tuned for more new partnerships, and as promised, we'll have a tasty new Java application for you to get your hands on very soon. It will change the way you use Socialight, and we're very excited to release it into the world. Bravo Project RunwayWe're pleased to announce that we have teamed up with Bravo TV's Project Runway to create a behind-the-scenes mobile experience for the show's ravenous fanbase. For those who haven't tuned in, Project Runway is a fashion-focused show highlighting the talents of up-and-coming designers. Contestants are subjected to arduous challenges that challenge their wits and creativity, and they frequently have to move around the city in search of fabrics, inspiration, etc. Current and past contestants and judges on the show, including Tim Gunn, have gone wild creating hundreds of Sticky Notes all over NYC. On the web you can view an interactive New York map with notes at the actual places where challenges and highlights occurred in past seasons of "Project Runway" including Parsons the New School for Design, Mood Fabrics, Bryant Park, Michael Kors's studio, etc. As regular users of Socialight know, things comes alive when you use your handset in the real world. Using their mobile web browser, fans find insider information when near the locales. It's like having a virtual Tim Gunn guide you through the streets of Project Runway's New York. Project Runway is another addition to our steadily increasing cache of TV-related content, following notes from the Travel Channel's Anthony Bourdain's "No Reservations" and Andrew Zimmern's "Bizarre Foods." Have any interesting partnerships that you think would work well? Be sure to drop us a line. We'd love to hear from you. Socialight LondonThe newest addition to Socialight, the location-aware London service, is quickly gathering steam. The number of Socialights in the UK has doubled since the launch and we now have around 5 thousand Sticky Notes notating with every bar, pub, club and restaurant in London, making it easy for visitors and hardened city residents alike to find great local content. The Late London channel now has around 800 notes, all lovingly created by savvy club goers and nightlife denizens. The service is currently free, accessible from any mobile-web-enabled handset, and completely location-aware for 90% of mobile users. No GPS handset or download is required. So, if you live in London or find yourself there for business or pleasure, give it a go and let us know your thoughts. Stickies of NoteSpeaking of great Sticky Notes, here're a tasty few that have popped up on our phones lately: Featured SocialightsFind stories from Socialights around the world.
